Joshua Kretchmer

Bio

Joshua Kretchmer is an Assistant Professor in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at GA Tech. Prior to joining GT, he did his post-doctoral work in the group of Garnet Chan, first at Princeton and then subsequently back at Caltech. His research focuses on the development of new simulations methods at the interface of quantum dynamics and electronic structure theory. These methods are applied to understand explicit electron dynamics in complex systems ranging from attosecond-scale electron relaxation dynamics in inner-shell ionized molecular clusters, to spin-dynamics in chiral systems, to charge transport in conventional and quantum materials
