Bio
Jesse McDaniel is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Tech. Prior to joining GT, he did his postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research group develops and applies theoretical and computational chemistry techniques to model chemical reactions within complex environments, with a particular focus on reactions at solid/liquid interfaces in electrochemical and catalysis applications. Other research interests include the first-principles modeling and statistical mechanics of organic electrolytes and room-temperature ionic liquids, as well as fundamental electrochemical processes involving charge and ion transfer.
Honors & Awards
McDaniel was awarded the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2023.
