Bio

Antonio Facchetti is the Hightower Professor of Biopolymers in the School of Material Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Northwestern University and the co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer of Flexterra Corporation. Dr. Facchetti has published more than 590 research articles, 14 book chapters, and holds more than 120 patents (H-index 139). Dr. Facchetti’s research interests include organic, metal oxides and 2D semiconductors and dielectrics, conducting polymers, (bio)electronics, sensors, batteries, and photovoltaics.

Honors & Awards

  • Antonio Facchetti received the ACS Award for Creative Invention, the Giulio Natta Gold Medal from the Italian Chemical Society, the Italian Chemical Society Research Prize, the team IDTechEx Printed Electronics Europe Award, the corporate 2011 Flextech Award. In 2019 he was inducted into the Advanced Materials Hall of Fame. In 2010 he was selected among the "TOP 100 MATERIALS SCIENTISTS OF THE PAST DECADE (2000-2010)" by Thomson Reuters and in 2015-2024 recognized as a Highly Cited Scientist. He is Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering, European Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Inventors, American Association for the Advanced of Science (AAAS), Materials Research Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, Kavli Foundation, and the ACS Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering.
